HOW
DO I... MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
Patients are able to book to see a GP up to 4 weeks in advance, depending on leave etc. Subject to availability we also offer a book on the day appointment system - please telephone the surgery at 8.00am on the day you wish to be seen and you will be offered an appointment for that day. We also offer ‘commuter’ clinics, by appointment only, one evening a week and a Saturday morning. If your problem is urgent and there are no available appointments, please inform
the receptionist who will arrange an emergency appointment. This will be on the
same day but only deal with one problem and may involve waiting until the doctor
is free to see you. Our usual appointments allow ten minutes with the doctor.
Please help us by booking a “double appointment” if you require more
time or wish to consult about more than one problem. You will need to make a
separate appointment for each patient who is to be seen. If you cannot keep an
appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.
Patients who fail to cancel their appointments will be removed from our practice
if they miss three appointments in any 12 month period.
WEEKEND
AND NIGHT COVER
Patients are not benefited by tired doctors and therefore we employ a deputising
service from 6.30pm to 8.00am weekdays and Saturdays and Sundays. For urgent
medical attention at these times please telephone the usual practice number (020 8300 1680) and you will be redirected. NON-URGENT
ENQUIRIES SHOULD BE POSTPONED UNTIL THE SURGERY IS OPEN. For health
information or advice you may also ring NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 or www.nhs.direct.co.uk
HOW
DO I... OBTAIN
A HOME
VISITS?
Patients are requested to telephone before 10.30am if a home visit is required,
although emergency visits will be accepted at any time. Help us to help you by
giving our receptionists as much information as possible. Please remember that
several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do a single
home visit. We therefore appreciate patients using this service only when necessary
and making an effort to attend the surgery. On our part, we try to ensure that
very sick patients are seen promptly on arrival. Patients who think they may
be infectious should tell the receptionist who will arrange for them to wait
away from the rest of the patients.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN TEST RESULTS?
These will be given by the receptionist to the patient only (or to the patient’s parent/guardian if applicable). You should call at the surgery or telephone after 2.00pm.
